Julie Bly Malesky, 86, of Blackman Street in Wilkes-Barre died Monday at Smith Health Care Center.
Born October 9, 1925 in Ashley she was a daughter of the late Malachi and Emily Smith Bly.
Julie held various jobs throughout her life. The one position she found to be her favorite was that of caring for her grandsons in their younger years. Her family was her passion.
Julie was a member of the Parish of Saint Andrew and a communicant at the Church of Saint Patrick.
Her husband, Joseph J. Malesky died March 12, 2001. A son, William, infant son, Michael, infant daughter, Mary, sisters, Nellie Makavensky and Mary Rable, and brothers, Eugene, Malachi, Michael and Joseph Bly also preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Joseph Malesky of Wilkes-Barre, John and his wife Rita Malesky of Olyphant, Robert Malesky of Wilkes-Barre, James Malesky of Harrisburg, Mary and her husband Dennis Mazonkey of Mountain Top and Kathleen and her husband John Ziomek of Mountain Top; six grandsons; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; sisters, Catherine Rable, Emily Stoodley, Anna Kaminski and Margaret Kopiak; brother, William Bly; nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Julie’s Life will be held Friday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Patrick. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.
