Barbara E. Gazda

Barbara Elizabeth Gazda, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, died on December 30, 2022.

Born March 5, 1937 in Old Forge she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Stanek.

A graduate of Old Forge High School and Lackawanna Junior College, she went to work with Supermarket Services as an administrative assistant. After having children, Barbara joined Kids R Us and worked there for nearly ten years.

Barbara was also a decades-long, dedicated member of the Saint Aloysius Choir.

Barbara enjoyed ceramics with her friends, being involved and baking for the annual church bazaar, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2019.

Her son Michael Gazda; daughter Michele Gazda; daughter Alicia Gazda; son Stephen Gazda and wife Paula; brother Joseph; grandchildren Samantha, Derek, Claire, and Cora; and other family and friends will miss her very much.

Celebration of Barbara's Life begins Friday, January 13, 2023, with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Saturday, January 14, 2023, with gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius.

Donations to the Parish of Saint Robert Bellarmine are preferred and will honor Barbara's memory.
