James W. Smith, Jimmy, 41, of Wilkes Barre passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2021.

Born December 1, 1979 in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of James W. Smith and the late Shirley (Blaine) Kennedy.

James attended both Crestwood and Coughlin high schools. He graduated from Southeast High School, Bradenton, FL in 1998.

Jimmy loved spending time with his son Tyler they enjoyed playing video games together and Eagles Football. He loved relaxing at the beaches in Florida while visiting his Dad and family. Golfing was his favorite pastime since he was a little kid. Jimmy loved a wide range of music from "Oldies" to Techno, and he had to play it loud! He was exceptionally bright, kind-hearted, easy to talk to, and had many friends that he loved spending time with.

James was preceded in death by his mother Shirley (Blaine) Kennedy, his grandparents David and Margaret Blaine, and Harold and Ruth Smith.

He will be missed every day by his father James Smith; step-mother Helen; sister Megan Kennedy-Dutko; brother Greg Smith; son Tyler Smith; grandson Camden, niece Kennedy, nephew Blaine, and as well as his loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and many great friends.

Until we meet again, we love and miss you.

Celebration of James's Life will include visitation from 2 to 4 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.

In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, we ask that you do something kind for someone else in Jimmy's memory.
