Russell C. Madden

Russell C. Madden, 70, of Wilkes-Barre passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022.

Born July 30, 1951 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Russell E. and Ada Bond Madden.

Russ was a 1970 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School where he played baseball and basketball. He continued his education at Luzerne County Community College.

Russ worked for Nachlis Furniture and the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority before retiring. He proudly served our country as a Pennsylvania Army National Guard soldier for twenty-five years.

Russ enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing and loved spending time with his family.

A nephew, Richard Wozniak, preceded him in death.

His wife, the former Claudia Shahoney; daughter, Erika, her husband Brian, and their son, Aidan Hilburt of Dallas; sons, Russell John Madden of Hanover Township and Scott William Madden of Wilkes-Barre; sister, Joan and her husband Richard Wozniak of Mountain Top; nephew, Gary and his wife Maureen Wozniak of Forty Fort; other family and friends will miss him very much.

Celebration of Russ's Life takes place on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, with visitation from 5 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Private burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
