Albert J. Faymore, Sr., 82, of Wilkes-Barre Township passed away November 13th 2021 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born September 5, 1939 in Wilkes-Barre, Al was the son of the late Harvey and Catherine Wydra Faymore.
Al graduated from Marymount High School, Class of 1957. He served his country from 1957-1960 in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Wasp CVS-18 aircraft carrier.
He was married to the former Dorothy A. Zaborowski, his high school sweetheart, for sixty-one years.
Al was the proprietor of Harvey's Auto Body Shop and operated the business until his retirement in 2018.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre. Al was an active member of the Wilkes-Barre Township Lions Club holding offices as President, Treasurer, and Secretary. He received the Lions International Melvin Jones Fellow & Lions of Pennsylvania Fellow awards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Leonard F. Faymore.
Surviving in addition to his wife Dorothy are his children Angela Yavorski and her husband John, Sr. of Wilkes-Barre Township; Al Faymore and his wife Mary of Hatfield, Annette Yarros and her husband Dave of Scranton; grandchildren Bernie and his wife Jenn, John Jr., A.J., Nick, Hannah, Emily; and sister Dorothy and her Husband Mike Kaye; brother-in-law Ted Zaborowski and his wife Pat of Grantsburg, WI; and his many nieces and nephews.
Al's entire family is grateful for the wonderful staff from Geisinger's 4th Floor ICU, especially the dedicated nurses Jackie and Holly, who helped care for Al during this difficult time.
A Funeral Mass at will be celebrated by Father John Terry, Pastor at 10 AM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the Church of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 40 Park Avenue in Wilkes-Barre.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Albert Faymore, Sr. to Our Lady of Hope Parish 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre.
