Alex John Dobrosky, 95, of Wilkes-Barre died Sunday at Manor Care Health Services.
Born August 16, 1917 in Portland, Maine he was a son of the late Victor and Stella Dobrolski.
Alex was a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II having served his country honorably from 1943 to 1945.
On October 13, 1940 Alex was married to the former Helen Stefanski in Brooklyn, New York. Helen died September 14, 2005, one month before celebrating their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary.
A daughter, Theodora Lawrence, sister, Sr. Mary Theodore, CSFN and brother, Stanley Dobrolski also preceded him in death.
He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Alexandria Louden, Colette Cichocki, Diane F. Dobrolski and Pamela Rosenzweig; grandchildren, Alexander and Lawrence Grella, Theresa Remnick, Maria Harvey, Bartholomew, Matthew and Luke Lawrence, Samantha Murphy, Charlene, Benjamin and Theodore Cichocki, Melanie and Nicholas Marrano, Quentin Rosenzweig; great-grandchildren, Kelly Ann Shaffer, Michael Grella, Ashley, Emma, Hanna, Matthew, Lillian and Evelyn Lawrence and Hank and Kristen Harvey, and Devon Remnick; a brother, Chester Dobrolski; other family and friends.
Celebration of Alex’s Life will be held Wednesday at 10 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be held in the Spring in Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Tuesday from 12 to 3 PM.
