Alfred S. Casale, 85, of Dallas and formerly of Bayonne, New Jersey, died Tuesday at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton.
Born October 1, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey he was a son of the late Pasquale and Emily Brzenk Casale.
A graduate of Lincoln High School in Jersey City, he earned his degree in business administration from Seton Hall University.
Mr. Casale honorably served our country as an Army Corporal during the Korean Conflict.
Al started his career as a designer of railroad cars for American Car and Foundry and retired after many years overseeing the design department at Kraft Corrugated and its successor, Mann Kraft.
Al was a member of the Parish of Saint Therese in Shavertown and a former member of the Parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel throughout his more than fifty years of residence in Bayonne.
His wife of fifty-eight years, Regina Cembor Casale, died June 2, 2012.
He will be greatly missed by his sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred S. Casale, Jr. MD and Mary Casale of Shavertown and Donald W. Casale and Cassie Casale or Waretown, New Jersey; grandchildren, Katherine Casale McNally and her husband Andrew McNally, Daniel Casale and Riley Casale; a great-granddaughter, Rowan McNally; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Al’s entire family is grateful for the kindness and friendship which was extended to him through their social connections and all those he came into contact with at Geisinger Heart Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation over the past three years. Admiration and gratitude are also extended to Doctors Richard Huntington and Christian Adonizio, and the entire medical team which cared for Al.
Celebration of Al’s Life will begin Thursday with visitation from 4 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Bayonne followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, New Jersey.
