Alice McAndrew

November 20, 1915 — February 2, 2011

Alice E. McAndrew, 95, of Wyoming died Wednesday at Mercy Center in Dallas.

Born November 20, 1915 in Pittston she was a daughter of the late John and Alice Kelly Grier.

After graduating from Saint John's High School and Saint John's Business School in Pittston, Alice became employed by Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, where she remained her entire working life as Office Manager until retirement in 1977.

Alice was a life-long member of the Parish of Saint John the Evangelist in Pittston and the Ladies of Charity.

Her husband, Joseph F. McAndrew died in March of 1997. Sisters, Marie Grier, Catherine Loughney and Elizabeth McHale, and brothers, John and William Grier also preceded her in death.

Surviving are nieces, Mary Alice Kazista of Clarks Summit, Ann Domiano of Appalachin, New York and Mary Kay McHugh of Shavertown; and a nephew, John McHale of Greene, New York.

Monsignor John J. Bendik will Celebrate Alice’s Life in a Funeral Mass on Friday at 10 AM in the Church of Saint John The Evangelist, William Street in Pittston. Interment will be in Saint John’s Cemetery in Pittston.

Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the Church of Saint John The Evangelist, 35 William Street, Pittston, PA 18640-2597
