Ann K Gill, 95, of Wilkes-Barre Township, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side on Saturday, October 20, 2018, following a brief illness.
Born November 4, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Bridget and Edward Button.
Ann was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1940, and was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope in Wilkes-Barre.
Before her retirement in 1991 she worked in the attendance office at W-B Township Junior High School.
Ann loved life to the very end. She was dedicated to her faith with daily Mass and the Rosary. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and forever boasted of their many significant accomplishments.
She loved watching any type of sports team, especially Notre Dame.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John J., in 1981, daughter, Mary Ann Blazick, in 1995, sister, Mary Temprine, in 1984, and brother, Michael Lyons, in 1976.
Ann will be greatly missed by her seven children; Jack of Ashley, Tom and his wife Alice of Wilkes-Barre Twp., Kathy Wolf and her husband George of Egg Harbor Township, NJ, Ed and his companion Mary of Wilkes-Barre, Robert (Bones) and his wife Denise of Wilkes-Barre, Jim at home and with whom she resided, Maureen Jesikiewicz and her husband Jim (Jes) of Mountaintop; fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Ann’s Life will begin Tuesday with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Wednesday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of the Parish of Our Lady of Hope.
