Ann M. Hughes, 93, of Oregon Street in Wilkes-Barre died Thursday at Guardian Elder Care Center.
Born June 11, 1918 in Mocanaqua she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Siskovich Paciga.
Ann was a 1936 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School.
Until retiring at age 80, Ann was a second generation proprietor of Oregon Inn in Wilkes-Barre.
Her husband, Robert E. Hughes died July 3, 1990. A sister, Mary Smallcomb and brother, John Paciga also preceded her in death.
Ann will be missed by her children, Carol Carpenter of Shrewsbury, John and his wife Lonnie Hughes of Wilkes-Barre, Karen Fritzges of Wilkes-Barre, Annette and her husband John Wallace of Plymouth and Robin and her husband Daniel Chabot of Gananaque, Ontario; grandchildren, Chris and Sean Carpenter, Carrie Romano, Adam Hughes, Jessica Fritzges, Jacent Hughes, Audrey and Emilie Chabot; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Aidan, Finley and Owen; and a sister, Pauline Tobin of Forty Fort
Celebration of Ann’s Life will be held Saturday at 11:30 AM in the Chapel at Saint Mary's Mausoleum in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Saturday from 10 to 11 AM
