Anna Jean ‘AJ’ McNulty, 86, formerly of B’nai Brith Apartments in Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday.
Born July 26, 1928 in Mount Vernon, Illinois she was a daughter of the late P. Hilton and Grace Hicks Dement.
Anna Jean was a graduate of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital School of Nursing. A registered nurse, she worked in pediatrics at General Hospital for many years and a Pediatric Associates in Kingston for ten years before retiring.
AJ was a member of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital Alumni, Red Hats, East End Ladies Club and volunteered her time at the Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen.
Her husband, John McNulty, a daughter, Donna Szustak, granddaughter, Emily Szustak, daughter-in-law, Jo Ann McNulty and brothers, Robert and James Dement preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Jack of Wilkes-Barre, Michael of Morris Plains, New Jersey, Theresa and her husband Mark Choman of Wilkes-Barre and Mary and her husband Jeff Craig of Mountain Top; son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Szustak of Kingston; grandchildren, Casey McNulty, Michael and Jennifer McNulty, Michael Szustak, Jill Robostello and Jeffrey, Steven and Natalie Craig.
AJ’s entire family is grateful for the loving care she received from the staff of Riverstreet Manor.
Celebration of Anna Jean’s Life will be held Friday at 9 AM from McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of the Parish of Saint Andre Bessette. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be at McLaughlin's on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.
