Anne Brennan Carolan

Anne R. Carolan, formerly of Wilkes-Barre and most recently of Poland, Ohio, passed away on April 26, 2023, her 89th birthday.

Anne was born on April 26, 1934 in Boston, Massachusetts, and moved to Wilkes Barre in 1945. She was the daughter of the late William J. and Regina Jennings Brennan.

Anne graduated from St Mary's High School, College of Mount St. Vincent, and Boston College with a Master's degree in nursing.

Anne enjoyed many years providing nursing services to blind people in Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.

She was a member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas, and her strong faith was the center of her life.

In her retirement, Anne enjoyed tutoring schoolchildren. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially fall in Maine.

Anne's beloved husband, Robert Carolan, died on November 14, 2003. Her brother William J Brennan also preceded her in death.

Her sister-in-law Lori Brennan, numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews will miss her very much.

Anne's entire family is grateful for the care provided by Mercy Health and The Inn at Poland Way.

Celebration of Anne's Life takes place on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas, 226 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.

Donations to the Parish of Saint Nicholas are preferred and will honor Anne's memory.
