Anne Delaney Chapin

Anne E. Chapin, 92, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away in the presence of her loving children on Sunday, April 30, 2023.

Born December 21, 1930 in Plymouth she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Farrell Delaney. Anne was a proud graduate of Harter High School in West Nanticoke.

Anne was married to Charles "Chip" Chapin for fifty-nine years, and together they raised six children in their South Wilkes-Barre home. Anne's greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends. She was involved with the auxiliary of the former Saint Therese's Church in South Wilkes-Barre for years. She later would become a parishioner of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

Anne's husband, Charles, died on June 19, 2009. Her granddaughter Meghann Chapin Burgess, daughter-in-law Susan Chapin, and brothers Joseph and William Delaney also preceded her in death.

Anne's children Charles "Chipper" Chapin and his wife, Susan, of Livermore, CA; Michael Chapin of Hunlock Creek; Kathleen and her husband, Anthony Antonitis of Harveys Lake; Anne and her husband Jerry Orloski of Mountain Top; Chris Chapin and his wife Kathy of Wilkes-Barre; and Karen and her husband Ed Nash of Easton; grandchildren, Brian Chapin, Michael and Matthew Chapin, Jill Chapin Mazonkey, Jerry, David, and Jeffrey Orloski, Christopher and Daniel Chapin, and Emily, Maggie, Carly, and Lily Nash; great-grandchildren Aidan, Conor, Quinn, Evie, Fletcher, Ben, Logan, Reese, and Emma; brothers Michael Delaney of East Dennis, MA and Robert Delaney of New Port Richey, FL; and sister Margaret 'Peggy' Magagna of Swoyersville, will miss her very much.

Celebration of Anne's Life begins Thursday, May 4, 2023, with visitation beginning at 9 AM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
