Ann Jane Hummer

Ann Jane Hummer, 88, passed away Monday at Little Flower Manor where she had been in residence for the last several years.

Born 01 April 1921 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Ann O'Donnell Featherstone.

Ann was educated in Wilkes-Barre city schools. In her younger days, she worked in the garment industry at Cohen & Fein and Square Apparel.

Ann was a member of the Parish of Saint Boniface and its Altar and Rosary Society. As an active participant in Wilkes-Barre politics, she served as a Democratic Committeewoman and worked the polls on election days for many years.

Her husband, Bernard P. Hummer, Sr. died 8 May 1988. Sisters, Elizabeth Devaney, Mary Needham, Katherine Zenex and Margaret Hummer also preceded her in death.

Ann's family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of Little Flower Manor and Saint Therese Residence for their compassion and care over the last several years.

Surviving are: two sons: Bernard P. Hummer, Jr. of Wilkes-Barre and Francis and his wife Julie Hummer of Nanticoke
granddaughters, Sara and her husband Brian Ball of Nanticoke and their sons, Aiden, Eithan and Dillon and Melissa Sobeck and her daughters, Brinley Sobeck and Ava Fedak

Funeral will be held Friday at 10:30 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service 142 South Washington Street Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in Church of Saint Boniface. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Friends may call Thursday 5 to 7 PM and Friday, 9:30 AM to service time
