Barbara A. Law, 66, of Kingston was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away peacefully following an illness on Friday.
Born January 15, 1951 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Malcolm J. and Leona Boris Law.
A graduate of Saint Ann’s Academy, Barbara attended Duquesne University and earned her degree in Library Science from Misericordia University. She also studied to become a certified paralegal.
Barbara was a media specialist for Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 for more than twenty years before retiring in 2008.
A member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas, Barbara volunteered as an ombudsman in Luzerne County, as a driver for the American Cancer Society and at the Hoyt Library.
Known for her infectious laugh, Barbara enjoyed traveling, playing golf, gardening and participating in exercise classes at Candy’s Place.
A great-niece, Madyson preceded her in death in 2010.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her brother, Malcolm J. and his wife Margaret Novitsky Law of East Stroudsburg; nephews, Malcolm J., III and his wife Laura, Christopher and his wife Julie, Shane and his wife Renee and Mitchell and his wife Genesi; great-nephews, Malcolm J. IV, Aiden and Liam; other family and friends.
Celebration of Barbara’s Life will begin Monday with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Tuesday with gathering at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
