Benedicta (Virgie) Slusser of Wilkes-Barre passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, after a short illness.
She was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States after marrying her husband of forty-five years, David Slusser.
Benedicta was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very proud of her daughters and granddaughter. Above all, she found great joy in visiting them in California. Her love and devotion to her family will be her legacy, as she always put them first. Her presence will be greatly missed, but we know that her dancing continues.
Surviving are her husband David; daughters Darice and Jennifer; daughter-in-law Natali; son-in-law Shaun; her shining star granddaughter Caia, all of California; sisters Aurea, Elena, Fely, and Gloria of Hawaii; other family and friends.
Benedicta’s entire family is grateful for the compassionate care she and they received from the nurses and staff of the CVICU of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Celebration of Benedicta’s Life is scheduled for Thursday, January 5, 2023, with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre.
Donations to Whiskers World or Purrfect Mugs Cat Café are preferred and will honor Benedicta’s memory.
