Bernice Sipple Gavlick

Bernice Sipple Gavlick, 86, of Ashley, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born May 27, 1935 in Buck Township she was a daughter of the late Henry and Grace Kastreva Sipple.

Bernice was a member of the Parish of Saint Leo the Great and the Donegal Society.

Her husband, Norman R. Gavlick, Sr., died February 17, 1968. Brothers, Raymond and Robert Sipple, a sister, Grace Ann Brobst, niece, Molly Brobst, and nephew, Robert Sipple, Jr., also preceded her in death.

Her son, Norman R. Gavlick, Jr. and his wife Angela of Swoyersville; daughter, Mary Grace Gavlick of Ashley; grandchildren, Jeremy, Rylee, and Jacob Gavlick, Caitlin, Braden, and Tierney Beamer; great-grandchildren, Roan and Taven Beamer; brother, Donald Sipple of Ashley; sister-in-law, Margaret Sipple of Ashley; nieces, nephews, other family and friends will miss her very much.

Bernice's family extends heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care of the Christmas Eve staff of the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital ER.

Celebration of Bernice's Life begins Wednesday, December 29, 2021 with visitation from 5 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Thursday, December 30, 2021 with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Leo in Ashley.
