Betty M. Wampole of Mountain Top passed away on Monday, March 18th.
Born August 12, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Austin R. and Evelyn Green of Carlisle, Pennsylvania and Greenbelt, Maryland.
Betty was employed by the United States government for thirty-five years. She first worked for the Office of Personnel Management and later joined the Small Business Administration from which she retired in 1982.
Betty was married to Theodore B. Wampole, Sr., a Plymouth native, in 1982. They lived in Bowie, Maryland until they moved to Mountain Top following Ted’s retirement in 1998. Ted preceded Betty in death on July 10, 2009.
Betty will be greatly missed by her sister, Joyce Thomas and nephew James Thomas of Vail, Arizona; cousins, Carolyn Sheriff and Gary Peters of Carlisle; step-children, Carol and her husband Sean Kelly of Duncansville, Theodore B. Wampole, Jr. of Wilkes-Barre and Mark and his wife Danielle Wampole of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; step-grandchildren, Stephanie, Heather, Reagan, Gage and Hunter Wampole, Patrick and Michael Kelly, Theodore and Alexander Wampole; other family and friends.
Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held Thursday at 7:30 PM at McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Private interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM.
