Carl Joseph Kratz, Jr., 68, of Exeter passed away at his home, with his wife of forty-three years at his side, on Monday, December 11th.
Born June 18, 1949 in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of the late Carl Joseph and Marie Yudisky Kratz.
Carl attended G.A.R. Memorial High School and Keystone Junior College. A Navy veteran, he served from 1967 to 1970, when he was honorably discharged.
Carl was employed by Air Products and Chemicals for forty years before retiring.
Carl enjoyed playing many sports and was a coach for girls’ basketball. He was partial to the Springer Spaniel breed of dog, especially his current Springer, Jersey.
Carl will be greatly missed by his wife, Arlene Drew Kratz; son, Drew of New Jersey; daughter, Carlene and her husband Mark Crager of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; grandson, Caiden Crager; other family and friends.
Celebration of Carl’s Life will begin Thursday with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Friday with gathering at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the SPCA.
