Catherine Bly Rable, 96, of Langhorne died Friday, November 24, 2017. She lived at The Birches of Newtown for nearly two years and briefly at Pickering Manor.
Born November 30, 1920 in Ashley she was a daughter of the late Malachi and Emily Smith Bly.
Catherine attended Saint Leo’s School in Ashley. She was married to her husband, Frank P. Rable, in the Church of Saint Leo on November 8, 1947. Frank’s career in the US Air Force led them through traveling and living in different cities for much of his twenty-two years of service. They settled in Langhorne in 1961.
Catherine worked at Union Carbide Co. for fifteen years before retiring: her favorite job was being a mother and grandmother.
Her husband, Frank, died February 13, 1997. Daughters, Catherine Mary and Mary Rable, a son, Cyril Joseph Rable, twin sister, Mary Rable, sisters, Emily Stoodley, Nellie Machivinsky and Julie Malesky, and brothers, Malachi, Michael, Joseph and Eugene Bly preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Frank and his wife Mary Rable of Levittown; daughter, Margaret and her husband Dr. Robert Beyer of Langhorne; grandchildren, Michael Rable, Kathleen and her husband Joshua DiCamillo, Daniel Beyer, Christopher Beyer and his wife Dr. Nicole Diaz Segarro, and Robert W. Beyer; a great-grandson who was born the day Catherine died, Leo Alexander DiCamillo; sisters, Anna Kaminski and Margaret Kopiak; brother, William Bly; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of Catherine’s Life will begin Friday with visitation from 6 to 9 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Saturday with gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Leo. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
