Charles F. Chapin

Charles F. ‘Chip’ Chapin, 84, of Wilkes-Barre died Friday in the company of his family.

Born 22 April 1925 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Fletcher and Susan Schmidt Chapin.

Chip was a graduate of E.L. Meyers High School and continued his education at Penn State University.

Chip was a Superintendent for Sordoni Construction Services for thirty-five years before retiring in 1990.

He was a member of the Parish of Saint Therese in Wilkes-Barre and was an enthusiastic outdoorsman with a love for animals.

A granddaughter, Meghann Chapin Burgess, brother, Gerard and sisters, Marie Schwab, Irene Boyd and Helen Chapin preceded him in death.

Born in the family home on Orchard Street, Chip and his wife, Anne Delaney Chapin raised a beautiful, loving family there.

Surviving, in addition to his wife are:
children, Charles 'Chipper' and his wife Susan Chapin of Livermore, California, Michael and his wife Susan Chapin of Hunlock Creek, Kathleen Chapin and her companion Anthony Antonitis of Harvey's Lake, Anne and her husband Jerry Orloski of Mountain Top, Christopher and his wife Kathy Chapin of Wilkes-Barre and Karen and her husband Ed Nash of Easton
Grandchildren, Brian Chapin, Michael, Matthew and Jill Chapin, Jerry, David and Jeffrey Orloski, Christopher and Daniel Chapin and Emily, Maggie and Carly Nash; Great Grandsons, Aidan and Conor Chapin and a sister, Rita Molchan of Philadelphia

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 09:30 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Church of Saint Therese, 25 Old River Road in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
