Charles Myles Conlon, Jr., 74, died Tuesday morning in his residence at Washington Square.

Born September 20, 1935 at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston he was a son of the late Charles Myles and Evelyn 'Bunnie' McGinley Conlon.

Charles attended Wyoming Seminary and Blair Academy, and resided on Old River Road in South Wilkes-Barre for most of his life.

He served our country as a Seaman with the Navy and Naval Reserve from 1956 to 1961, with two years of active duty.

Charles retired after serving as General Manager of the Wilkes-Barre City Steam Heat Authority and was previously employed by the Wilkes-Barre Redevelopment Authority.

Charles was a member of the Parish of Saint Therese, B.P.O Elks, St. Conrad's Y.M.S. and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, which he served as past-president.

Surviving his children, Bill Conlon of Clearwater, Florida, Lisa Conlon Sliker of Wilkes-Barre, Katie Conlon Jupena of South Carolina, Charles M. 'Chip' Conlon, III of Oregon and Christopher Conlon of West Chester, grandchildren, Christina, Caitlyn and Devon Holvey, Alexander Sliker, Colleen, Shane and Patrick Conlon, Taylor, Cameron, Kevin and Zachary Jupena and Mollie Jule Conlon, a great-grandson, Teagen Benner, sister, Evelyn Merwarth of New York and a brother, John Conlon of Wilkes-Barre

Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held Saturday at 09:30 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Church of Saint Therese. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
