Donald C Johnson, Sr. loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle and best friend, passed into Jesus' loving embrace on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
Born October 4, 1939 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Maurice and Agnes Dolan Johnson.
Don was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School and owned and operated his own real estate management company.
A Sergeant in the U.S Army during the Vietnam Era, he was a proud patriot who loved his country.
Don loved traveling, meeting new people and experiencing new adventures. He will be remembered as a one of a kind family man and friend.
His wife, Jacqueline Howells Johnson, son, Donald C. Johnson, Jr., daughter, Melissa Colorusso and seven brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Don will be greatly missed by his daughters, Kathleen and her husband Ed Mislitski of Nanticoke, and Kelly and her husband Roman Aguirre of South Carolina; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; sister, Lois Winsor of Wilkes-Barre; brothers, Ronald and Thomas Johnson of Wilkes-Barre; nieces, nephews, other family and friends, including his best friend and companion, Jean Decker of Wilkes-Barre.
Celebration of Don’s Life will begin Friday with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there on Saturday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
