Donald George Francis, 75, of Packer Street in Avoca died Wednesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born 06 May 1934 in Avoca he was a son of the late Hayden and Sarah Warren Francis.
Donald completed his education in Avoca public schools and served for several years in the United States Army.
Mr. Francis worked as a mechanic for Topps Chewing Gum in Duryea from 1964 until 1996 when he accepted a position with Diversified Information Technologies in Scranton.
Donald was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of West Pittston and Teamsters Local 229 in Scranton.
Brothers, Wilbur and Marshal Francis and sisters, Jane Francis and Florence Clark preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, the former Betty Coleman
sons: Donald George Francis, Jr. and his wife Dr. Mary Pascucci of Sugarloaf and Roy Charles and his wife Christine Benny Francis of Dupont
grandchildren, Hayden and Ryan Francis
sisters: Elizabeth Sanders and Mary Kocher of Corning, New York
Pastor Don Strope will celebrate Donald’s life on Saturday at 1 PM at Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 317 Luzerne Avenue at the corner of Park Street in West Pittston.
Family will receive friends following the service.
