Donna Marie Volinski Sofa Krull, best known as “Dawna from Angelo’s,” of Wilkes-Barre, age 63, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday morning after her courageous battle with cancer to finally be with her parents and beloved granddaughter, Kiele.
Born July 3, 1957 in Wilkes Barre she was a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor Fabian Volinski.
Donna worked at Angelo’s Pizza in Wilkes Barre since she was sixteen years old. Her hard work, devotion, and leadership for more than forty years created an extended family with lasting bonds. Coworkers and guests that would come in throughout the years found that she always ran a tight ship and quickly learned manners and respect from her.
Donna was a strong, independent mother through and through. She was known for her sense of humor, kindness, and free-spirit. A devoted Cowboys fan and avid gardener, her attention to detail was unmatched. Everywhere she went, she made sure to make it more beautiful.
Donna will be greatly missed by her three sons, Joseph Sofa of Hanover, Ryan Gwynn and his wife Jennifer of Wilkes Barre, and Jamie Gwynn and his wife Erica of Gilbertsville; grandchildren, Kobe, Jack and Olivia; brothers and sisters, Walter, Deborah, Beverly, Robert, and Thomas; and many other loving family members and friends.
