Dorothy Zieker, 94, a long-time resident of Hughestown died peacefully Tuesday at Birchwood Nursing Center.
Born 19 June 1914 in New York City she was a daughter of the late Virginia Bunker Harding and step-daughter of the late Harry Harding of Trucksville.
Dorothy attended a school for executive housekeeping in Virginia and was employed in that capacity by the former Pittston Hospital and the former Home for Aged Men in Wilkes-Barre before retiring.
Her son, Donald and her brother, Clyde Harding were killed in the 109th Field Artillery train wreck on 11 September 1950. A sister, June DiMaria and brother, Harry Harding also preceded her in death.

Great-grandchildren, Charles Ryan Lahr of Toronto, Canada, Alex Colarusso of Wyalusing, Morgan and Llewellyn Evans of Mohnton,
sister: Faith Kozick of Apache Junction, Arizona
numerous nieces and nephews
Reverend Robert F. Sauers will celebrate Dorothy’s on Saturday at 11:00 AM at McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Cedar Crest Cemetery in Trucksville.
