Edwin R. Nash, Rusty, 87, of Wilkes-Barre and formerly of Lee Park, Hanover Township, passed away on August 21, 2024.

Born September 24, 1936 in Hanover Township he was a son of the late Michael and Dorothy Robins Nash.

A 1954 Hanover Township Memorial High School graduate, Rusty joined the United States Army and proudly served our country in Korea and Japan from 1954 to 1957. He was a member and board member of the American Legion Post 609 and a member of AMVETS Post 59. 

After thirty-six years of service, Rusty retired from the United States Postal Service in January 1999. He also drove a school bus for Williams Bus Line.

Rusty coached the Lee Park Yanks of the Hanover Township Boys Baseball League from 1957 to 1962. He served as a member of the Board of Directors, coach, and umpire for the St. Therese Little League in South Wilkes-Barre. Rusty was an integral part of the South Wilkes-Barre Teener League for many years, serving as a coach, Vice President for four years, and President for nine years. He was a director of the boards of South Wilkes-Barre Teener League Baseball, Teener League Baseball, Inc., and the Wilkes-Barre American Legion Baseball Team.

Rusty was a lifetime fan of Penn State sports and the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

His brothers Gerald and James Nash, and sisters Anna Louise Nash and Susan Kotch preceded him in death.

Rusty's family was his greatest joy. He leaves behind his wife Margaret M. Quigley Nash, with whom he would have celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage next month; daughter Mollie A. and her husband Joseph Matusick of Plains; son Edwin T. and his wife Karen Chapin Nash of Easton; grandchildren Joseph and Jade Matusick of Plains and Emily, Maggie, Carly, and Lily Nash of Easton; great-grandchildren JJ Matusick and Meygan Javick; brother Garrett Nash of Wilkes-Barre; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Celebration of Rusty's Life begins Monday, August 26, 2024, with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, with gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius.
