Eleanor Baker Jennings, 90, of Hanover Township died Thursday.
A descendent of Robert Morris of Philadelphia, Eleanor was born August 16, 1920 in Paradise Valley in the Pocono Mountains. She was a daughter of the late Theodore Morris and Rose McGlynn Baker.
As a child, her family lived in Stamford, Connecticut for several years before coming to Wilkes-Barre. Eleanor was a 1938 graduate of Saint Ann's Academy.
Eleanor was a copywriter for the Advertising Office of Lazarus' Department Store prior to marriage, and later worked with her husband, Jack, in the operation of his graphic design firm.
Mrs. Jennings was a member of the Parish of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception and its Altar and Rosary Society.
Her husband of thirty-six years, John P. Jennings, died January 15, 1985.
Surviving are her sons: Brian, her faithful caretaker, and Garry Jennings; and three grandchildren.
Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held Monday at 9 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM.
