Eleanor Teresa Keil, 89, of Washington Square Apartments in Wilkes-Barre died Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.
Born March 11, 1923 she was the fourth daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Abbey Lynn of Forty Fort.
A 1941 graduate of Kingston High School, Eleanor served as a secretary for the Union of Teleradio, and worked at the Linear factory and Lee Ward's Craft Store.
Eleanor was a charter member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church in Willingboro, New Jersey where she was Treasurer of the Couples Club.
In 1988 she returned to Wilkes-Barre and renewed her membership with Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Eleanor was also a member of Saint Nicholas Senior Citizens, where she served as Secretary.
Her husband, William M. Keil died July 16, 1982. Sisters, Catherine, Marge and Virge also preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her sons, Henry, William and Brian; grandchildren, Matthew and Mariel; sister-in-law, Alice Louise Keil Beatty; nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held Saturday at 1 PM in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 190 South Main Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park in Carverton.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre on Friday from 6 to 9 PM.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
