Elizabeth Meehan Joseph, 86, of North Pennsylvania Avenue in Wilkes-Barre died Tuesday at The Laurels in Kingston.
Born 14 August 1922 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Edward and the late Mary O'Hara Meehan and a lifelong resident of the North End section of the city.
Elizabeth was a 1940 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.
Mrs. Joseph was employed in the garment industry for many years before retiring.
Elizabeth was a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary and the North End Senior Citizens Club.
Her husband, Anthony 'Romeo' Joseph died 31 March 1980. Sisters, Anna Solinsky and Marie Meehan and a brother, Charles Meehan also preceded her in death.

granddaughters, Dr. Elizabeth Joseph and her husband Zaher Hilal, Dr. Anna Fedor and her husband David and Margaret Joseph

Funeral will be held Friday at 09:00 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Liturgy at 09:30 AM in Saint Anthony's Maronite Church on Park Avenue in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
