Ellen Kinney Wallace

Ellen Kinney Wallace, 79, a lifelong resident of the East End section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family at her home on August 5, 2022.

Born August 5, 1943 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late William and Mae Williams Kinney.

A 1961 graduate of Saint Mary's High School, she continued her education at Wilkes-Barre Business College. Ellen was a stay-at-home Mom for many years and retired in 2006 after thirty years with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.

An avid bowler, Ellen also enjoyed playing mahjong and dining with family and friends.

Her sisters Mary Keating, Phyllis O'Connell, Joan Mangan, and brother James Kenney preceded her in death.

Her beloved daughters Wendy and her husband Thomas Delese of Freeland, Tracy and her husband Daniel Schooley of Plains, Nicole and her husband Shawn Brogan of Avoca, and Tammi and her husband William Oyler of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren Joseph Delese, Kaitlyn Brogan, Avery and Nathan Oyler; other family and friends will miss her very much.

Ellen's entire family is grateful for the kind, compassionate care she received from the staff of the ICU at Geisinger Wyoming Valley and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Celebration of Ellen's Life begins Tuesday, August 9, 2022, with visitation from 5 to 7 PM in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, 13 Hudson Road in Plains. It continues there on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, with visitation at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM.

Donations to Hospice of the Sacred Heart are preferred and will honor Ellen's memory.
