Emily L. Lang, 87, of Washington Square Apartments in Wilkes-Barre died Friday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.
Born February 22, 1925 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Schappert Schuler.
A graduate of Saint Nicholas High School, Emily studied nursing at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Emily dedicated most of her time to her husband, daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas and its Altar and Rosary Society, Emily was a long-time volunteer for the American Red Cross and former member of the Hanover Women’s Club.
She and her devoted husband, Joseph C. Lang would have celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary on March 8th.
A sister, Mary Schuler and brother, Frank Schuler preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Joseph C. Lang; daughter, Mary Beth and her husband Jack Geffert of Larksville; grandchildren, John and Tommy Geffert and Karen Mazurek; great-grandchildren, Larry and Alivia Mazurek, Rylee and Natalie Geffert; nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Emily’s Life will be held Monday at 10:30 AM from McLaughlin's - The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas. Entombment will be in the Mary, Mother of God Mausoleum at Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM
