Evelyn Ruhf Gudoski, 89, of Sugar Notch passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016.
Born June 17, 1927 in Sugar Notch she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Jennie Walsh Ruhf.
Evelyn was a 1946 graduate of Sugar Notch High School and married her high school sweetheart, Robert J. Gudoski, on May 13, 1950.
A devoted wife, mother and nana, passionate gardener and maker of ceramics, she was beloved and admired by her many students whom she taught in her ceramic classes for more than twenty-five years. Each October 31st she welcomed parents and children from across the area to select a delightful Halloween ceramic; each handmade and painted for trick-or-treaters.
Her husband of nearly sixty years, Robert J. Gudoski, passed away on January 20, 2010. Her son, Robert F. Gudoski, and sisters, Genevieve Ruhf Seiger, Adelaide Ruhf Stecher, Carroll Ruhf and Mildred Ruhf Seiger also preceded her in death.
Evelyn will be greatly missed by her daughter, Deborah and her husband Robert Eastwood of Mountain Top; grandchildren, Robert Gudoski, III, Jennifer Eastwood Wojtowicz, Rebekah Eastwood Long, Christopher Eastwood, Heidi and Donna Gudoski; great=grandchildren, Colton Eastwood, Sarah Jane and Jack Wojtowicz; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will begin Sunday with visitation from 2 to 4 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Monday with gathering at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Church of the Holy Family in Sugar Notch. Interment will be in Saint Charles Cemetery.
