Evelyn Bevan Munch, 92, of Wilkes-Barre died Friday at Riverstreet Manor.
Born June 8, 1920 in Dunn, North Carolina she was a daughter of the late Edmond and Girtha Bass Baggett.
A 1960 graduate of the Wilkes-Barre City Schools Practical Nursing Program, Evelyn completed her training and certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Evelyn practiced at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital and as a visiting and private duty nurse through a career which spanned nearly thirty years before retiring.
Evelyn enjoyed travelling and had a fondness for hats and shoes.
Her husband, Irvin Munch died November 25, 1988. A grandson, Chad David Holvey, great-granddaughter, Emma Holloway, and brothers, Norman, Lewis, Henry and Edward Baggett also preceded her in death.
Evelyn's entire family is grateful to the staff of Riverstreet Manor for the compassionate care extended to her.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Janice Lee Schramm of Wilkes-Barre, David R. Bevan of Fairless Hills, Keith F. Bevan of San Francisco and Juanita J. Holvey of Nuangola; grandchildren, Paul Schramm, Susan Holloway, Heidi Eck, Christine King, Dwayne Bevan and Amy Lee Holvey; great-grandchildren, Emily and Eric Schramm, Raymond and Lynsey Holloway, Christopher and Erica Eck, Christian and Rian King, and Kyle, Alexander, Laura and Sarah Bevan; and other family and friends.
Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be led by Pastor Don Hartshorne at 6:30 PM on Tuesday at McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Roberts Grove Free Will Baptist Cemetery in Dunn, North Carolina.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Tuesday beginning at 5 PM.
