Frances June Lenahan, 93, of Provincial Tower in Wilkes-Barre and a former resident of Harvey’s Lake died Friday, December 30, 2016.
Born June 8, 1923 in the Preston section of Hanover Township she was a daughter of the late Michael T. Lenahan and Helen Prest Lenahan Stout.
A graduate of St. Leo's the Great School Ashley, June was employed at the McCrory's Department Store in Forty Fort. She later went on to work at the Bell Telephone and retired from the Bell as an operator after many years with the company.
June was a member of the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima and communicant at the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. She was also a member of the Bell Telephone Pioneers.
Her brothers, Michael T. Lenahan, Jr., Leonard J. Lenahan and Thomas B. Lenahan along with her sister, Eileen M. Lenahan preceded her in death.
June will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Leonard J. Lenahan, Jr., Thomas B. Lenahan, Jr., Kathleen Marconi, Michael T. Lenahan, Eileen Allen and Maureen Blejawas; great-nieces and great-nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of June's Life will begin Friday with visitation from 6 to 9 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Saturday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to the Parish of Our Lady of Fatima.
