Harold A. Schmidt

Harold A. Schmidt, 90, of Main Street in Sugar Notch died Monday at his home.

Born 07 December 1918 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Anthony and Agatha Kemmerer Schmidt.

Harold was a member of the Class of 1937 of G.A.R. Memorial High School.

Until his retirement in 1981, Harold was employed in stores of the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company for many years.

Harold was a member of the Parish of Saint Charles Borromeo and its Holy Name Society and the Knights of Saint George.

His son, Thomas, died 12 May 1986. A sister, Dorothy and infant brother, Carl also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, the former Eileen Duffy
Children, Francis and his wife Tammy Schmidt of Dallas, John and his wife Nadine Schmidt of Mountain Top, Mary and her husband John Lenahan of Mountain Top and Margaret and her husband Paul Viti of Sugar Notch, grandchildren, Jeff Schmidt, Erica, Thomas and Michael Schmidt and Kaitlyn Viti and a brother, William Schmidt of Tuscon, Arizona

Funeral will be held Thursday at 08:45 AM from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service 142 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 09:30 AM in Church of the Holy Family in Sugar Notch. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
