Helen O’Boyle, 96, formerly of Andrew Street in Green Brook, New Jersey passed away peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Edison, New Jersey where she resided happily for the past seven years.
Born at home November 7, 1917 in Cleveland, Ohio she spent her early years on a farm near Pittston, attending school in a one room schoolhouse.
Helen married in Wilkes-Barre, lived in Newark and moved to Green Brook in 1958. She worked at many different jobs; as a teenager, in a silk mill here, later years; at a New Jersey flash bulb factory, a box factory, and at Berkley Plastics. She retired from Chanel Cosmetics in Piscataway in 1983.
She was long time parishioner of St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Dunellen, New Jersey and loved gardening and embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A., and daughter, Patricia McCoskey, four sisters and three brothers.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Barbara and her husband Bill Wisener, Marilyn and her husband Robert Schwarz, and Charles and his wife Carolyn O’Boyle; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Helen’s Life will begin Thursday at 10:30 AM at McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, PA. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
