Helene Guhanick Conover of Bear Creek Township died Friday at her home.
Born in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Rose Guhanick.
A graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, Helene continued her education at Luzerne County Community College and King's College.
Helene retired from Harris Semiconductor in Mountain Top after working for RCA for many years. She was employed by Caremark for the past five years and was involved in the areas of real estate and insurance sales for a long time.
Family was the center of her life and where she found her greatest joy.
Her husband, Joseph Chupka, sisters, Mildred Wrobleski, Olga Guhanick, Mary Vollock, Ann Krug and Elizabeth Kinney, and brothers, John, Michael and Vladimir Guhanick preceded her in death.
She will be greatly missed by her sister, Martha Phillips of Allentown and brother, Joseph Guhanick of Long Island; several nieces and nephews, including Ron and his wife Charleen Wrobleski of Kingston, their son, Ryan and his wife Whitney Wrobleski of Mountain Top and their children, Aaron, Colin and Emily.
Celebration of Helene’s Life will be held Tuesday at 8:30 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park in Dallas.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Monday from 5 to 8 PM.
