Henry S. Orf, 97, of Shavertown died on 23 December 2008 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born 09 May 1911 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Harry and Eva Walton Orf.
An Army veteran of World War II, Henry distinguished himself in the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater and was active for almost three years of battle including the Invasion of Anzio, Italy.
Henry was a paint technician for Motor Twins Ford for more than thirty years before retiring.
He was a member of the Parish of Saint Therese in Shavertown and the American Legion Daddow-Isaacs Post 672 in Dallas.
His wife, Catharine Boyle Orf died 23 February 1996. Sisters, Edna, Frances, Helen, Thelma and Mary also preceded him in death.

Thomas of Dallas and Miriam Stone of Wyomissing
Grandchildren, Thomas and Christina Orf and Abigail and Michael Stone. He was also a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.
Henry’s life will be celebrated in a Memorial Mass on Sunday, 1 February 2009 at 09:00 AM in Saint Therese’s Church, Pioneer Avenue, Shavertown. All friends and family are welcome to share in an informal reception for Henry at his home following Mass.
