Jacqueline Marie Perillo

Jacqueline Marie Perillo, Jackie, 65, a longtime resident of Wilkes-Barre, fought a long and courageous battle against several health conditions and passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on July 2, 2022.

Born January 25, 1957 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late John J. and Rosemarie Mercadante Perillo. Jackie grew up surrounded by a loving family.

Jackie attended Mackin School and was a 1976 graduate of James M. Coughlin High School.

Jackie was a member of the Parish of Saint Nicholas. She was passionate about trying to help children. She was a lifelong Volunteer, especially supporting her baby brother, Stephen, with ministry events, and enjoyed her time as a nurses aide.

Jackie was a loving, generous, and thoughtful mother, adoring Nana, a warmhearted and nurturing older sister, a devoted companion to her lifelong partner George Alfano, and a selfless aunt and great aunt to the nieces and nephews she adored.

In addition to her love for her family, she loved her cats (babies), crocheting, cooking, "vacations" at the casino, playing Pokeno and Bingo, and singing Karaoke, where she will forever be remembered with "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini."

Her brother-in-law, Forster Ritchie, Jr., preceded her in death.

She will forever be missed by all who love her. She is survived by her daughter Mary R. McHale and her husband, Paul J. McHale, grandson Jonathan T. Nickol; her sister Rosemary Perillo Ritchie; her brother John J. Perillo Jr. and his wife, Caroline Perillo; her baby brother Pastor Stephen L. Perillo and his wife, Gail Perillo; her lifelong partner George Alfano; and her many nieces and nephews and their children.

Celebration of Jackie's Life begins Wednesday, July 6, 2022, with visitation from 6 to 8 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Thursday, July 7, 2022, with a gathering at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Nicholas.

Donations to either Saint Jude or Shriner's children's hospitals will honor Jackie's memory.
