It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Yourglivch on January 24, 2025.
The loss of Janet will be felt by the many she touched over decades of selfless devotion. But her wisdom and love will far outlast the pain of her passing.
Born April 25, 1935 in Wilkes-Barre, Janet was a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Hogan Linker.
Janet was a devout Catholic and a Parish of Saint Nicholas - Saint Mary member. She found much peace and love, spending decades volunteering to teach Catechism to the parish youth. Generations of children loved Miss Janet.
Family was most important to Janet. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Her husband, Peter T. Yourglivch, died on July 29, 2008. Her sons William and Henry Oliver; granddaughter Erin Shanahan; grandson Jordan Oliver; brothers Donald, Joseph, Delbert, William, and Henry Linker; and sisters Marilyn Klack and Charlotte Tonkin also preceded her in death.
Her children Cathie and her husband John Dominick of Plains, Marilyn and her husband Charlie Krommes of Plains, Peter Yourglivch, Janet and her husband Ed Wassel of Sweet Valley, and Lisa and her husband John Broody of Hanover; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Denise DeLong of Montrose; nieces, nephews, other family and friends will miss her very much.
Janet's family will celebrate her life privately.
