Janice Shilkoski

Janice Shilkoski, 61, of Breslau in Hanover Township entered into eternal rest on Sunday at Hospice Community Care.

Born May 26, 1948 in Breslau she was a daughter of Helen Balavage Shilkoski and the late Walter Shilkoski.

A graduate of Saint Vincent’s High School, Class of 1966, she was employed at Kraft Foods (formerly Standard Brands) for forty-one years as Imaging Lead Operator.

Janice was a loving and giving person who generously gave of her time and talents to the churches of Saint Joseph in Georgetown and Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Wilkes-Barre, as well as to her many friends and co-workers.

An infant brother, Walter Shilkoski, Jr. preceded her in death.

Surviving in addition to her mother are an aunt, Mary Shymanski of Hanover Township; cousins, Rose Feddock of Larksville, Lucille Wasilewski of Shavertown, Lucille Olack of Kingston, Lenore Pisarcik of New Jersey, Irene Sanders of Plymouth, Patricia Pape of Larksville, Frank Obitz of Bear Creek, Mildred Cleary of Wilkes-Barre, Pat Schell of Edwardsville, Jim and Douglas Obitz of Alden.

Janice will be deeply missed by her devoted companion, John Lynch; friends, Angie Murray, Mary and Nancy Lynch; and by her beloved Bischon, Beaudette.

Celebration of Janice’s Life will be held Tuesday at 09:30 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Church of the Maternity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the pastor, Father John Terry as celebrant. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Nativity Cemetery in Plymouth Township.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Tuesday from 8 to 9:30 AM.
