Jessie Barbara O'Boyle of Hanover Township passed from this life to the next on February 17, 2017.
Born November 30, 1918 in Plymouth she was a daughter of the late Michael Joseph and Marcianna Levandoski Novinski.
Jessie was a graduate of Hanover High School. On January 22, 1938 she married the love of her life, Robert P. O'Boyle. Through their fifty-five years they travelled the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Jessie enjoyed Broadway shows, bus trips to the Atlantic City casinos and cruises,as well as dances at the Big Band Society and the Railroaders Club events.
A lifelong member of the Church of Saint Aloysius, through the years Jessie was a eucharistic minister, enjoyed baking for parish festivals and events, and was active with the Altar and Rosary Society and Ladies of Charity. She was also active with the parent teacher associations of Saint Aloysius School and Saint Mary’s High School, as well as the Reginas of King's College.
Her husband, Robert, died July 2, 1993. Sisters, Mary, Helen, Ann and Jeannie, and brothers, William, Vincent, Charles and Joseph also preceded her in death.
Jessie will be greatly missed by her children, Robert P. O’Boyle of Aledo, Texas, Charles and his wife Lorraine O’Boyle of Milford, Delaware, Dr. Ronald C. O’Boyle of Mount Pocono and Kathleen and her husband Barry Kwasny of Stroudsburg; grandchildren, Timothy O’Boyle, Karen Harpster, Laura Bruce, Michael O’Boyle, Jessica Guy, Janine Lion and Barry Kwasny; thirteen great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Jessie’s entire family is grateful for the loving care she received from the staff and management of Mrs. Bush’s Personal Care Home.
Celebration of Jessie’s Life will begin Sunday with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin’s, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre and continue there Monday with gathering at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius. Entombment will be in Saint Mary's Mausoleum.
Memorial donations are preferred and may be made to Saint Aloysius Church.
