Joan Hartley Bottley

Joan Hartley Bottley, 93, a nearly lifelong Wilkes-Barre resident, died on Monday, February 24, 2025.

Born July 23, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre she was a daughter of the late Henry G. and Jessie Symons Hartley.

Joan was a proud member of the James M. Coughlin High School Class of 1949 and served on its reunion committee for many years. She continued her education at Wilkes-Barre Business College.

Joan retired from the Department of Veterans Affairs after many years of service.

Her sisters Esther and her husband Leo Schwartz and Lois and her husband Elmer Reese, as well as her brothers Charles and his wife Ruth Hartley and Alan and his wife Marge Hartley, preceded her in death.

Joan's beloved nieces and nephews will miss her very much.

Joan's family will celebrate her life privately.
