John L. Davison, 54, of Wilkes-Barre suddenly passed away on February 9, 2013 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born April 10, 1958 in Harrisburg he was a son of Irene Savage Davison of Wilkes-Barre and the late William A. Davison.
A member of the Class of 1976, he was an academic and athletic standout on the Meyers High School football and wrestling teams and graduated from Harvard University where he played Ivy League football. John was a member of the 1981 Presidential Inaugural Committee in Washington D.C.
John was the owner of William A. Davison & Son, Inc.
He was a communicant at the Church of Saint Aloysius and a member of the Parish of Saint Robert Bellarmine and Wyoming Valley Country Club.
John was an avid reader, consuming many Tom Clancy novels, and enjoyed a game of cards with family and friends. He was a fierce competitor, but always a gentlemen and good sport.
John was a lifetime, devoted caregiver to his mother and cherished summer family gatherings at Harvey's Lake. His passing creates a permanent void in our lives but vivid memories of his rare, genuine goodness will sustain both his family and all who knew him.
He will be greatly missed by his mother, Irene N. Davison; siblings, Dr. William A. and his wife Donna Davison of Tampa, Florida, Irene N. Brislin of Harvey’s Lake, Kathleen A. and her husband Michael Hudik of Smock, Dr. Thomas M. and his wife Nancy Davison, and Dr. James P. and his wife Diane Davison, all of Tampa, Florida, and Attorney Robert V. and his wife Anna Marie Davison of Dallas; numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Celebration of John’s Life will be held Saturday at 10 AM from McLaughlin’s – The Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 11 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.
Visitation will be held at McLaughlin's on Friday from 4 to 8 PM.
