Frank James, 82, a native of Larksville, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
Born on July 8, 1941, John Francis James was a son of the late Gordon and Helen Fisher James.
Frank was a 1960 graduate of Central Catholic High School. He served our country honorably as an SP5 of the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. After marrying the love of his life, Arlene Devine, in Kingston, they lived at Fort Hood, Texas, for the remainder of his service. They would have celebrated sixty years of marriage in September.
Frank returned to the Wyoming Valley and resided in Sweet Valley and Kingston before moving to Old Bridge, New Jersey, in 1972. He was a purchasing agent for Procter & Gamble for thirty years and later worked for the New Jersey Turnpike Commission before retiring in 2005.
Frank was an enthusiastic fan of the New Jersey Devils, Grumpy, and The Grinch.
His brothers, William and Charles James, preceded him in death.
His wife, Arlene; children Theresa and her husband Thomas McFarland of Kingston, Michael James and his wife Beng of Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, and Jennifer and her husband Justin Cumming of Pittsgrove, New Jersey; grandchildren Colin McFarland and his fiancée Kaitey Serine, Mollie McFarland, Matthew James and his partner Raniel Gernale, Martin and his wife Erica James, Marcus James, Amanda and her husband Russell Harring, Austin Rondeau and his fiancée Dana Brandenberger, and Kaylynn Cumming; great-grandchildren Harper and Reagan Harring; brother Joseph and his wife Janie James; sister Helen and her husband John Polifka; nieces, nephews, other family and friends will miss him very much.
Celebration of Frank's Life begins Monday, April 29, 2024, with visitation from 5 to 8 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola, 335 North Maple Avenue in Kingston.
