John Moore

August 6, 1929 — June 30, 2010

John J. Moore, 80, of Scott Street in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre died Wednesday at Geisinger Wyoming Valley.

Born August 6, 1929 in Wilkes-Barre he was a son of the late Edward and Catherine McKelvey Moore.

An Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he earned the rank of Sergeant.

Jack was the manager and owner of Moore's Cafe in East End for many years before retiring in 2007.

A sister, Peggy Dougherty preceded him in death.

Jack’s brothers and sisters, Edward 'Condy' and his wife Clare Moore of Canton, Ohio, Rosemary and her husband Leo Tosline of Glenolden, Nancy Elston of Dallas, Neil and his wife Dorrine Moore of Rochester, New York and Catherine Theresa and her husband Hank Ball of Lancaster; and twenty-two nieces and nephews spanning three generations are surviving.

Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held Saturday at 9 AM from McLaughlin's Family Funeral Service, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre with Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in the Church of the Holy Saviour. Interment will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in Hanover Township.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin’s on Friday from 4 to 8 PM. Watch the ice…
