John H. Moyle, 82, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family at his home on October 26, 2023.
Born in Wilkes Barre on May 11, 1941 he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Mary E. Burke Moyle.
A 1958 graduate of Meyers High School, he earned an AS in mechanical engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
John served our country in the United States Army as a Specialist 4th Class during the Vietnam War Era and was honorably discharged in 1966.
John was a long-time employee of Foster-Wheeler Corporation as a drafting and design supervisor. He was later employed by and retired from Altec Industries as a Sales Engineer.
John was a devout Roman Catholic and a member of the Parish of Saint Robert Bellarmine. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Bishop William J. Hafey Assembly and Knights of Columbus Council 302.
His eldest son, John C. Moyle, preceded him in death on October 8, 2013.
The love of his life, his wife of fifty-nine years, Patricia Kosar Moyle; his son, Richard B. Moyle and his wife, Lisa of Wayne; his daughter, Patricia L. Wright and her husband, David of Dallas; grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives will miss his warmth, generosity, and sense of humor.
John's family is grateful for the care he received from the cardiac group at Lankenau Hospital and his family doctor, Dr. Richard Blum, and his staff.
Celebration of John's Life begins Sunday, October 29, 2023, with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues on Monday, October 30, 2023, with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of Saint Aloysius, Barney and Division Streets in Wilkes-Barre. Interment with military honors will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery.
