John Ross Tasker, III, Jack, 73, of Mountain Top, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
Born July 21, 1951 in Wilkes-Barre he was the son of the late John and Marian May Tasker. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Tasker Wolsieffer.
A 1969 Meyers High School graduate, Jack earned his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Business from Wilkes College. He opened his own successful insurance agency, serving the needs of the community for more than fifty years.
Jack's family was his everything. Married to his high school sweetheart, Dorothy A. Taylor, for nearly fifty-two years, they share three daughters together: Amy Tasker Bruckler (Robert), Lindsay Tasker Barker (John), and Kristen Sara Tasker. One of Jack's proudest moments was becoming the most adoring grandfather ("Pop," "Popper") to his six loving grandchildren: Sydney Bruckler, Jordyn Bruckler, Lily Bruckler, Taylor Bruckler, Emma Barker, and John Barker. Jack will also be missed by Eric Robertson, other family, and friends.
Aside from Jack's family being the joy of his life, he was also a gifted storyteller, often regaling those around him with stories from his very vivid and creative imagination. A genuine music-lover by nature, Jack began playing piano as an adult, practicing daily and bestowing his growing talent upon his loved ones with a traditional birthday serenade. When not exploring old and new food adventures or seeing every movie in the theater, Jack and Dorothy could often be found enjoying their home's peaceful nature and wildlife.
Celebration of Jack's Life begins Wednesday, April 9, 2025, with visitation from 4 to 7 PM at McLaughlin's, 142 South Washington Street in Wilkes-Barre. It continues there on Thursday, April 10, 2025, with a funeral service at 10:30 AM.
Jack was best known for his endlessly kind and generous spirit. In that spirit, donations to Shriner's Children's Hospitals: lovetotherescue.org are preferred and will honor Jack's memory.
