Joseph E. Grula

Joseph Eugene Grula passed away on December 16, 2023, at the age of 89 in his hometown of Wilkes-Barre. He was born on July 14, 1934, to John and Mary Grula.

Joseph was a dedicated and hardworking individual who served his country with honor. After enlisting in the Air Force on August 22, 1952, he proudly served his term until his honorable discharge on August 21, 1956, achieving the rank of A/1C.

Upon returning from his military service, Joseph pursued his passion for justice and crime-solving. He embarked on a successful career as a criminal identification specialist in the state government, working tirelessly for the Department of Justice in California until his retirement.

Outside of work, Joseph was a loving father and cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Ann Bauer, and sons, John Grula and Glenn Grula. He was a proud grandfather and will be dearly missed by his son-in-law, Tim Bauer, and his adoring grandchildren.

Joseph lived his life with integrity and determination, facing each challenge head-on.

Burial in Saint Mary's Cemetery was private.
